'Traditions of China' photo exhibit at Civic Center

Chinese photographer Yong Xiao's exciting picture of performing fire-spitters is among the works in 'Traditions of China,' now showing at the Dennis A. Wicker Civic Center, 1801 Nash St., through Nov. 26. The exhibition of Yong's photographs is sponsored by Central Carolina Community College's Confucius Classroom. Brochures at the exhibition explain the pictures of Chinese cultural traditions that are disappearing with globalization. An exhibition of pictures by Chinese photographer Yong Xiao is running at the Dennis A. Wicker Civic Center, 1801 Nash St., Sanford, through Nov. 26. 'Traditions of China' captures traditional Chinese life that survives in the midst of modernization. Yong is deputy director of the Department of Photography of the Xinhua Daily, one of the largest newspapers in China.
