SANFORD - Golfers, grab your clubs for a day of fun and fellowship for a good cause as the Central Carolina Community College Foundation hosts its 31st Annual Lee County Golf Classic on Wednesday, Sept. 9, at Sanford Municipal Golf Course.
Since 1989, the Foundation has hosted an annual Golf Classic in Lee County, raising funds for scholarships and other financial assistance for the college's students.
The Foundation also hosts two additional Golf Classics in Chatham and Harnett counties.
There will be a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., with lunch served.
The format for the Lee County Golf Classic is four-person Captain's Choice. Top teams in each flight will receive prizes. There also will be contests for longest drive, closest-to-pin, and putting.
Sponsorships are available at various levels: $200 Silver Sponsor includes sponsorship recognition; $600 Gold Sponsor includes one foursome and sponsorship recognition; and $1,000 Platinum Sponsor includes two foursomes and sponsorship recognition. There also is a $500 Foursome Package, which includes green fees, cart rental, entry to putting contest, prizes, refreshments, and lunch.

"The tournament provides great financial support to the college, which is especially important amid the COVID-19 pandemic as students need more help than ever - especially for scholarships.
