SANFORD - The Central Carolina Community College golf team won the 2022 Fall Storm Invitational played Sept. 26-27 at Colonial Country Club in Thomasville. The CCCC team was able to overcome an eight-shot deficit after day one to win by six.
The CCCC team finished with a 335-322-657 score, followed by Patrick & Henry Community College 327-336-663, Davidson-Davie Community College 357-330-687, and Southwest Virginia Community College 382-402-784.
"I am very proud of how the guys battled on day two to come from behind and win the tournament," said CCCC golf coach Jonathan Hockaday. "Colonial CC is a tough course and the windy conditions made it very challenging, but the guys were able to play some of their best golf coming down the stretch and get it done. I'm excited to see where we can go from here as we finish up the fall season and move toward the spring."
CCCC player scores - and their individual finish in the tournament and hometowns - were:
JT Thomas (6th) (Broadway, NC) - 82-78-160
Noah Ritch (7th) (Climax, NC) - 86-77-163
Ryan Keeley (8th) (Chapel Hill, NC) - 85-80-165
Jayden Moffitt (11th) (Bennett, NC) - 84-87-171
