SANFORD, N.C. - Amy Gustavson has received the Central Carolina Community College Excellence in Advising Award for 2023-2024. She is CCCC Assistant Director of Student Onboarding and Success (Chatham).
Gustavson's advising philosophy is deeply rooted in building strong, positive relationships with her students. She is an advocate for personalized support, taking the time to understand each student's unique journey and tailoring guidance to their specific needs.
"She not only values her work with students, but works to ensure that advising resources are available, pertinent, and effective," said Scott Byington, CCCC Associate Vice President, Onboarding and Advising.
"Amy has had diverse experiences and roles at the college, which have equipped her with a unique perspective that spans across various departments and divisions, enriching her ability to understand and address the multifaceted needs of our students," said Byington. "Her commitment to the professionalism of advising is truly commendable. Her pursuit of excellence is evident through her participation in various professional development programs.

As the CCCC Excellence in Advising Award winner, Gustavson has been nominated for the Excellence in Advising- Two Year Institution award sponsored by NACADA, the Global Community for Academic Advising, an organization representing 14,000 advisors worldwide.
