PITTSBORO - Put on your family's running shoes and come out for the Second Annual Central Carolina Community College Foundation Rabbit Run 5K & Children's Fun Run on Saturday, April 13 at the college's Chatham County Campus.
It's a morning of fun and exercise for a good cause. Proceeds from the Rabbit Run go to help fund scholarships for deserving students and other educational needs at CCCC.
The Rabbit Run takes off at 8 a.m. in front of the Administration Building at the campus, 764 West St., Pittsboro. The route travels W. Salisbury Street and turns north onto Fayetteville Street. It then turns on Midway Street to Hillsboro Street and runs south to Hanks Street. The race route turns west to return to Fayetteville Street, runs into W. Salisbury Street and returns to the campus.
"The Rabbit Run 5K and Children's Fun Run are great ways to get yourself and your family involved in a fun, healthy activity that benefits so many people," said Emily Hare, CCCC Foundation and Development director. "Encourage your friends and neighbors to join in and let's make this an event to remember."
The entry fee for the Rabbit Run is $25 until Wednesday, April 10. Those who register by then will receive T-shirts and other fun goodies. The entry fee will be $30 on race day.
The entry fee for the Children's Fun Run is $10.
Awards will be presented to the top overall male and female finishers, plus the
top male and female finishers in each age group.
The registration form is available at www.cccc.edu/RabbitRun5K. Mail the form and payment to CCCC Foundation, Attn: Emily Hare, 1105 Kelly Drive, Sanford, NC 27330. Runners can also register online at its-go-time.com. Packets can be picked up before the race between 6:30 a.m. and 8 a.m.
The Rabbit Run 5K is co-sponsored by the Chatham County Farm Bureau, CruiZers Marketplace and Eatery, and the Wren Foundation, Inc.
