SANFORD - Central Carolina Community College Student Outreach & Recruitment -- in collaboration and partnership with N.C. First(R) Lego(R) League (NC FLL), N.C. A&T State University, and Sharpe Pursuits -- hosted a NC FLL qualifying tournament on Saturday, Dec. 10, on the CCCC Lee Main Campus.
This year's theme is ANIMAL ALLIESSM. Teams research a real-world problem such as food safety, recycling, energy, etc., and are challenged to develop a solution. They also must design, build, and program a robot using LEGO MINDSTORMS(R), and then compete on a tabletop playing field. NC FLL introduces young people, ages 9 to 14 (grades 4-8), to the fun and excitement of science and technology.
Teams from Buies Creek, Carrboro, Cary, Chapel Hill, Erwin, Fuquay-Varina, Lillington, Morrisville, Raleigh, and Southern Pines participated in the event.
