Two CCCC recent graduates chosen for NCSU Goodnight Scholars Program

SANFORD - Two Central Carolina Community College recent graduates have been chosen for the Transfer Class of 2021 of the Goodnight Scholars Program at N.C. State University.

The two graduates, Frank Roth Ewens and Jaideep Ramani, are both from Lee County. They are among 15 recipients for the Transfer Class of 2021.

In making the announcement of their selection, the Goodnight Scholars Program released the following information for each student:

* Frank Roth Ewens will graduate from Central Carolina Community College where he earned the Academic Excellence in Physical Science Award. Frank was a member of both the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society and Math Club. He plans to major in aerospace engineering.

* Jaideep Ramani will graduate from Central Carolina Community College where he was a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. Jaideep volunteered for BAPS Temple in Raleigh along with supporting clean-up efforts at Raven Rock State Park. In 2017, Jaideep was elected treasurer of the Math Club. He plans to major in computer science.

About The Goodnight Scholars Program (from N.C. State University)

The Goodnight Scholars Program was established in 2008 out of the philanthropic generosity from North Carolina natives and NC State alumni Dr. Jim Goodnight, co-founder of global business analytic software leader, SAS Institute, and Mrs. Ann Goodnight, director of community relations at SAS Institute.

The Goodnight Scholars Program targets North Carolina residents from low- and middle-income families who aspire to study in a science, technology, engineering, mathematics or STEM education discipline at NC State. The value of the scholarship is $20,000 and is renewable for up to four years for first-year students ($80,000 total), and three years for transfer students ($60,000 total). In addition to the scholarship, Goodnight Scholars have access to an assortment of developmental programming focused on their professional and personal growth.
