Eighth CCCC Foundation Harnett Golf Classic a winner

DUNN - Opportunity was the big winner as golfers wrapped up the eighth Central Carolina Community College Foundation Harnett Golf Classic March 25 at Chicora Golf Club.

The Classic combines fun with the serious goal of raising funds to assist CCCC students who need financial help to stay in college. The proceeds will be used to fund scholarships and to support other needs of the college.

The Harnett County Golf Classic was a Four-Person Captain's Choice Flighted competition with three flights. The winners, team scores, and sponsors were:

First Flight

First Place: 54 -- Steve Malone, Chris Hockaday, Nick Skatell, Fred Rambeaut -- Sponsored by Diversified Service Contracting, Inc.

Second Place: 57 - Larry Daughtry, Jeremy Tyndall, Tracy Parker, Kerry Pennington -- Sponsored by Parrish Daughtry.

Third Place: 58 - Mike Hudson, Carson Lanier, Matt Williams, Rob Clark -- Sponsored by Julian and Cynthia Philpott.

The CCCC Foundation is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization affiliated with, but independent of, the college. It receives donations of money and equipment on behalf of CCCC and uses them to promote the educational mission of the college and assist students through scholarships and grants.
