SANFORD - Central Carolina Community College was pleased to host N.C. Community College System President Thomas Stith III on Friday, Oct. 29.
President Stith became NCCCS President on Jan. 11, 2021, and was previously district director of the U.S. Small Business Administration, where he led the federal agency's response to COVID-19 in North Carolina. Among his variety of public service and business experiences, he served as chief of staff to former Gov. Pat McCrory from 2013 to 2017.
Also visiting with President Stith was Alex Fagg, Director of Government Relations with the N.C. Community College System.
President Stith was given a tour of the CCCC Lee Main Campus, which included visits to facilities including the Dental, Nursing, Veterinary Medical Technician, and Industrial Systems Technology programs.
In addition, he heard presentations from CCCC President Dr. Lisa M. Chapman, CCCC Chatham Provost Dr. Mark Hall, and CCCC Harnett Provost Dr. Jon Matthews.
"The excellent programs I saw during my time here at Central Carolina Community College really exemplify the competitive advantage we have in North Carolina - an excellent academic institution adding to the job engine of North Carolina with Dr. Chapman's excellent leadership," said President Stith.
